The Standard-Times; New Bedford MA; 2002-5-15 RICHARD E. LAKE NEW BEDFORD -- Richard E. Lake, 63, of New Bedford died at home Monday, May 13, 2002, after a long illness. Born in Westport the son of the late Rachel Lake, he lived in New Bedford 45 years. Mr. Lake was a roofing and insulation foreman employed by Johns Manville until his retirement in 1991. He was an Air Force airman third class. He enjoyed duckpin bowling and belonged to several leagues at the former Midway Bowling Alley. He also participated in many billiard tournaments. In later years, he enjoyed playing cards at The Tavern and Ronnie's. Survivors include three daughters, Debra M. Blum and her husband, Stefan, both of Fairhaven, and Louanne Lake and Erica Sylvia, both of New Bedford; a son, Richard E. Lake Jr. of New Bedford; four grandchildren, Jennifer Blum, Seth Blum and his wife, Amy, Kristy Lake and Alexander Lake, all of New Bedford; and a great-grandson, Hunter Rich Jagielski of New Bedford. His funeral was private. Arrangements were by the Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home, 129 Allen St.
