SHREWSBURY - Rev. Richard John Lake, Sr., died peacefully October 5,
2013 after a long life of service to Jesus Christ. He was 88.

He was born in Neshaminy Falls, PA to the late Lewis and Ethel Mae Lake
and later lived in Churchville, PA. Richard is predeceased by his wife
of 60 years, Dolores Jayne (Austin) Lake, his brother, Thomas Lake and
his sister, Mabel (Lake) Rogers. He is survived by his children Ric and
Melanie Lake of Hatboro, PA; Mark and Cheryl Lake, Sr. of Northfield
Falls, VT; Robin Lake of Londonderry, NH; Brian and Patricia Lake,
Sr. of Shrewsbury, MA; and Kevin and Andrea (Lake) Walkup of Nashville,
TN. Richard was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren
and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

After serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Lewis Hancock in World
War II, Richard worked as a pioneer in computer engineering with IBM,
Burroughs and RCA. In addition, he owned his own company for several
years, Computer Room Supplies Corporation. He served as Pastor of Tioga
Heights Christian Church in Philadelphia and as interim pastor for several
churches throughout his life. In his later years, Richard and his wife,
Dolores, served as senior greeters at Shrewsbury High School.

Family and friends will honor and remember Richard's life by gathering for
calling hours on Thursday, October 10th at Rice Memorial Baptist Church,
81 Lincoln Street, Northborough from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. followed by his
Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors
will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of the
compassionate care staff at The Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence at
1183 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
