Lake, 91, of Stafford Springs, passed on Friday, (August 9, 2002) in the presence of his family at Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford Springs. Robert was born in Middletown Springs, VT on February 1, 1911 to the late Charles and Bertha (Juckett) Lake. He was married to the late Nettie Smith Lake and resided in the Crystal Lake section of West Stafford. Robert retired from Pratt & Whitney with over 35 years service. Prior to this, he farmed in Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut. He was an avid sportsman, hunter, inventor, and a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Robert is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Earle and Elaine Lake of Stafford, and Charles and Nancy Lake of Manchester; three daughters, Jean Beverage and April Griffin, both of Stafford, and Mabel Lake of Columbia; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mabel Wescott of East Poultney, VT. He was predeceased by two sons-in-law, Theodore Beverage and Tannis Griffin; a grandson, Timothy Beverage, all of Stafford; and a brother, William Lake of Vermont. Services will be held on Sunday, August 11, 7 p.m., at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main Street, Stafford Springs, with Pastor Norm Mesel officiating. Burial will be in Vermont at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Sunday, 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Recreational Department of Evergreen Health Care Center, 205 Chestnut Hill Road, Stafford Springs, 06076 where Robert spent the last year under excellent, loving care or to the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of Stafford, c/o Timothy Beverage Fund, c/o Rose Roszczewski, P.O.
