Saturday, January 12 and Sunday, January 13, 2008, The Oakland Press, Pontiac, MI, USA, Pages A-8 & A-11 respectively: LAKE, Robert C., of Lake Angelus; died peacefully at home on Sunday, January 6, 2008; at the age of 98. He had enjoyed the holidays with his daughter Rosalie Lake; and grandchildren Alexander, Miranda, Nina, Lucian and Jane; and great grandchildren Justin and Kian; and daughter Catherine O'Connell, of Sanibel, Florida had recently visited. Bob was deeply engaged with his extended family and together with his wife Barbara Drake Lake, was at the center of many community activities. Bob served the City of Lake Angelus and its predecessor Village for over 25 years as Conucilman, Treasurer, Asssessor, Village President and Administrator. He served as Fleet Captain of the Lake Angelus Yacht Club for 13 years, and was rumored to be a first-class putter. In 1976, he buried the Lake Angelus time capsule and took great pleasure in living to retrieve it in 2000. He retired from the Campbell Construction Co. in 1974 and spent many memorable years visiting Sanibel Island in Florida. A Memorial Service will be held in the early summer in Lake Angelus.
