B7 LAKE, Robert Howard A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany for Robert Howard Lake, who died Feb. 5 at age 72. Mr. Lake was born Feb. 17, 1931, in Portland. He graduated from Franklin High School and served in the Air National Guard. He was a driver for TriMet and a brakeman for the SP&S Railway. He also was a newspaper carrier for The Oregonian and Albany Democrat-Herald and a postal worker for the Albany Post Office. He moved to Albany in 1960. In 1959, he married Rita Wolf. Survivors include his wife; son, Kevin; daughter, Kathy Oliver; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Remembrances to Boy Scouts of America, Calapoola District. Arrangements by Fisher Funeral Home in Albany. Albany Democrat-Herald; Albany OR Feb. 17, 1931 - Feb. 5, 2003 Robert Howard Lake, 72, of Albany died Thursday at his home. He was born in Portland to Everett and Harriet (Wilson) Lake. He grew up in Portland and graduated from Franklin High School. On Dec. 26, 1959, he married Rita Wolf in Milwaukie. Mr. Lake entered the Air National Guard. He served one year in England during the Korean War. He returned home and worked at several places including Tri Met and the S,P&S Railroad. Mr. Lake moved to Albany in 1960, and began working at the Albany Post Office until the mid 1980s. He and his wife were paper carriers for the Oregonian and the Albany Democrat-Herald for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and past commander of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was also a Scout leader. He enjoyed railroad models, love music and wrote a lot. He is survived by his wife; son Kevin Lake of Albany; daughter Kathy Oliver of Williamsport, Md.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Fisher Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Private burial will be at Willamette Memorial Park.
