Burlington Co Times; Burlington NJ; 2002-8-6 Robert M. Lake - Pemberton Borough Robert M. Lake of Pemberton Borough died peacefully August 4, 2002 at home, age 73. He was native of West Philadelphia and graduated from West Philadelphia high School Class of 1946. After graduation, Bob went into the United States Marines serving in the Asiatic Pacific during WWII. After completion of his Military Service, Bob went on to attend Penn State University and was an avid fan of the Penn State Football Team. Upon completion of his studies, Bob returned to Cherry Hill and went into Banking attaining the position of vice president of Heritage Bank and then retiring after 27 years to help care for his mother. Upon marriage to Abigail R. Leonard in 1968 Robert and Gail moved to Maple Shade and then to Pemberton Borough in 1995. Robert was a member of the Maple Shade - Moorestown Masonic Lodge #281 F&AM where he was a former member of the High Twelve. He was a member of the Mount Holly Elks Lodge #848, Mount Holly and the Rhawnhurst-Castor American Legion Post #754, Philadelphia, and was a former member of Grace Episcopal Church, Merchantville. Robert was predeceased by his parents Carroll Elliott Lake and Emma Lake and his brother Carroll Elliott Lake Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife Abigail R. nee Leonard, one brother John F. Lake, Esquire of Center Barnstead, NH, his twin sister Nina M. Nutter of the Villas, Fl and his God daughter Katherine A. Hanza of Ann Arbor, MI. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 9:00 pm Thursday at the Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth St., Pemberton. The family will receive their friends 6 to 9 pm Thursday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Donor's favorite Charity.
