The Times Record; Brunswick ME; 2007-4-16 Robert R. Lake TOPSHAM -- Robert "Bob" R. Lake, 64, of Topsham (formerly of North Reading, Mass.) died Thursday Apr11 12, 2007, at a Brunswick hospital. He was born Jan. 7, 1943. in Somerville, Mass., to John J. and Bridget M. (Pearson) Lake. After graduating from North Reading High (1960), he joined the Navy as an electrician's mate, serving four years. On Oct. 1, 1966, he married Rose Ann Morin at St. John the Baptist Church in Brunswick. He worked several years for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford. Conn.: for the Defense Department at the Boston Naval Shipyard in Charlestown, Mass.: and at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery While working in Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. he spent the majority of his time in working in Electrical Shop 51 and Service Shop 99 and also was tasked with building, supervising submarine repair teams sent to Holy Loche, Scotland. He later began working for Supervisor of Shipbuilding in the Bath and later in the Portland and Brunswick offices. Upon his retirement in 1998, he was acting as a production controller electrical supervisor of shipbuilding in Bath. Following his retirement. He started a mail-order business selling specialty cedar products. In his spare time, he was an avid World War II history buff. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, genealogy and carpentry as well as painting nautical themes with watercolor and acrylics. He was also a past member of the Bath Lodge of Elks. He is survived by his wife of 40 years; two daughters, Bridget Lake of Topsham and Jennifer Waselchuck and her husband, Robert, of Atkinson, N.H.; two sisters, Rose Ameral of Port Richey Fla., and Marjorie Miller and her husband, Harold, of Hudson, Fla.; two brothers, Paul Lake and his wife, Nancy of Londonderry N.H., and John "Jack" Lake of Port Richey; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Patrick Lake, William Lake and Francis Lake. Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing St., Brunswick. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Demers-Desmond Funeral Home. Internment will be in North Reading.
