Times Herald Norristown, PA Wed, June 3, 2009 Robert "Bob" Robbins of Collegeville, died surrounded by his family on June 1, 2009. He was 67. Born in Philadelphia on October 6, 1941, he was the son of the late Robert and Frances (Baron) Robbins. Robert attended Bishop Kenrick High School, Class of 1960. For 33 years, Bob Robbins served the community through his work with the Norristown Police Department, from patrolling the streets to working with the K-9, and then becoming a detective for some time until his retirement in August of 2006. He made a significant impact upon all of those he has helped and with whom he has worked. Bob enjoyed spending time with his children and grandkids. He never missed a chance to go to his grandkids football games, wrestling matches, dance recitals, or just calling his kids to see "what's up?". He loved golf and his garden, along with being an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lena A. (DeMino) Robbins, his children, Lori A. (Robbins), wife of John Pumo Jr., Robert Robbins, husband of Tonya (Ferris) Robbins, and Jennifer (Robbins) Sandor, wife of Ronald Sandor Jr. Alsdo surviving are six grandchildren: Laura "Ash" Pumo, John Pumo III, Jared Robbins, Montana Robbins, Madison Robbins, Luke Sandor; his sisters: Frances Butler, Theresa Gillin, Patricia DiSandro, wife of Douglas DiSandro, Esq., his sisters and brothers-in-law Nancy DeMino, Charles DeMino, husband of Joanne DeMino, Andrea Volpe, wife of Donald Volpe, Nicholas Volpe, along with many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Sandra (DeMino) Volpe and brother-in-law Jack Butler. Relatives and friends are invited to Bobby's life celebration service on Friday June 5 from 7-9 p.m. at Boyd Horrox of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 1-8800-GIVNISH, and again on Saturday June 6 at St. Eleanor Parish, 647 Locust St., Collegeville, from 8:30-9:45 a.m., followed by his funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.
