31 October 1999; Chronicle Journal, Thunder Bay, ON Canada LAKE Mrs. Rose Lake, aged 97 years, resident of Dryden, died peacefully in the Dryden District General Hospital with her family by her side on Thursday, October 28, 1999. Born n 1902 in Greenland, Michigan, she was the daughter of Frederick and Matilda Wilson, The family emigrated to Saskatchewan in 1914 were she lived her early life in rural Saskatchewan and attended school. She married William Lake and lived in Saskatoon with their two children. In 1945, they moved to Beardmore where they lived for twenty-seven years. William and Rose moved to Dryden in 1972. Rose is survived by her son Douglas and daughter-in-law Shirley; grandchildren: Jana (Ross) Lovie of Longview, Washington; Wendy (Ab) Coombes of Kenora; Jim (Lynda) Lake of Dryden; Keith Lake of Kenora, and Ted (Sabrina) Lake of Dryden. Also surviving Rose are great grandchildren: Jennifer, Alyson and Jeffery Lovie; Andrew and Krista Coombes; Kurtis and Cathy West, Brad West and Marianne Whittaker; Garry and Ticcanna Lake; Zachary and Ceara Lake and by great-great-grandson Michael West. She is also survived by nieces and nephews in Western Canada and the United States. Rose was predeceased by her daughter Irene in 1953 and by her husband William in 1978 as well as by eight brothers and sisters. She will long be remembered for her pride in her family and her commitment to her strong religious beliefs, Funeral services will be held at the Moffat Chapel on Monday, November 1, 1999 at 2:00 pm with Mrs. Velma Henderson officiating. Cremation will take place following the funeral service with interment at a later date in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
