MARYSVILLE (KS) -- Ruth I LAKE, 81, Marysville, died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at a
Marysville hospital.  She was born Jan 20, 1920, in Beatrice, NE, to Charles L and
Helen KENNEDY DAY, and she graduated from Beatrice High School in 1938.  She was a
clerk at the Marysville Drug Store for several years.  She was a former member of
the Elks Lodge in Marysville.

She married Gerald L LAKE, on July 24, 1942.  He died Nov 12, 1997.  Survivors
include two sons, Jerry LAKE, Marysville, Bill LAKE, Cheyenne, WY; a brother,
William LAKE, Beatrice NE; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 2pm Thursday at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville.  Burial will be
in Marysville City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10am to 9pm Wednesday at the
mortuary.  Contributions may be made to the Ruth Lake Memorial Fund yet to be
designated and sent in care of the mortuary.


NOTE - 
My guess is that the surname of her brother was incorrectly reported, either by the
mortuary or the newspaper.  I checked the next day for a correction but there was
none.
