  Ruth J. (nee Greene) Lake, 79, of Lebanon, formerly of Peebles, died
Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at Hospice of Cincinnati. She was born in Peebles
on Aug. 8, 1923, the daughter of the late George and Elva (nee Shumaker)
Greene. She attended school in Adams County. She was a real estate agent
at Pat Sibcy Realty and Kirkland Realty. She was a member of the Rebecca
Lodge. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Pam
Lake; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and John Hayslip and Judy
and Vernon Lakes; one daughter-in-law, Lucinda Lake, all of Lebanon;
best friend and sister-in-law, Barbara Greene of Lebanon; sister-in-law,
Wanda Greene of Adams County; four grandchildren, Shelly Sechrist, Amy
Lakes, Amanda Lake and Jimmy Lake; and two great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her husband, James F. Lake; one son, James R. "Randy"
Lake; two brothers, Guy Greene and Roger Greene; and one sister, Pauline
Bolt. Services were held Monday, Jan. 6, at the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral
Home in Lebanon. Burial followed in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Memorials
may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
