Topeka Capital Journal; Topeka KS; 1999-1-23; CLAY CENTER (KS) -- Ruth POMERANZ, 87, formerly of Clay center, died Thursday, Jan 21, 1999, at a Wakefield (KS) nursing home. Mrs Pomeranz sold Stanley Products in the Clay Center area for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the auxiliary to the American Legion, both in Clay Center. She was born May 9, 1911, in Clay County, the daughter of William A and Della K WILSON LAKIN. She grew up in the Palmer area and she lived most her life in Clay Center. She moved to Wakefield in 1995. She married Romeo JENSEN in 1930. She later married Albert POMERANZ, who preceded her in death in 1980. Mrs Pomeranz also was preceded in death by a son, Richard, and two grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, John JENSEN and Fred JENSEN, both of Clay Center; three daughters, Esther BECHTEL, Fremont NE, Janet PARKS, Rogers AR, and Ruth POMERANZ, Mission (KS); a half-sister, Bernetta RUNDBERG, Olathe (KS); 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1pm Monday at the First Baptist Church in Clay Center. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center. Mrs Pomeranz will lie in state from 2 to 5pm Sunday at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral HOme in Clay Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clay Center First Baptist Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
