Greenville News (online edition) Greenville, SC December 2, 2006 Ryan Lake Ridgeway Funeral services for Ryan Blair Lake, age 81, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2006, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ridgeway Ward, presided by Elder Ken Branham, with Elder Tony Ashworth conducting. Burial will follow in the Centerville Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to Epworth Children's Home, 2900 Millwood Ave., Columbia, SC 29205, or to the L.D.S. Humanitarian Aid, 2416 Anderson Ct., Elgin, SC 29045. Born in Silverstreet, S.C., February 20, 1925, Mr. Lake was the son of the late Andrew Boyd and Julia Caroline Blair Lake Sr. He died at his home in Ridgeway November 29, 2006. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ridgeway Ward, served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, and had retired from the state Department of Education as a supervisor in the school bus maintenance department. Mr. Lake is survived by daughters, Mary Carolyn Lake Them and her husband, Peter, of Pickens, S.C., and Barbara Ann Lake of Ridgeway, and two grandchildren, Loriann Lake Them and Melissa Katherine Them. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lake was predeceased by his first wife, Lois Medlin Lake; his second wife, Dorothy Odom Lake; a brother, Andrew Boyd "Jack" Lake Jr.; and a sister, Merle Lake Frick. Pope Funeral Home in Winnsboro is serving the Lake family.
