The Altoona Mirror Altoona, PA December 24, 2013 Sandra L. Rogalla, Sept. 27, 1947 - Dec. 22, 2013 Sandra L. Rogalla, 66, of Altoona and Tyrone passed away on Sunday at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Paul Donald Robbins and Edna (Staley) Robbins. She was twice married, first to Charles Strohmeyer from 1965 to 1980, and then to James Rogalla from 1980 until 1995. Surviving are her mother in Greenwood, five children: Pamela Moss and her husband, Jon C., of Miamisburg, Ohio, Charles Strohmeyer Jr. and wife Julie, of Patton, Timothy Strohmeyer and wife, Tricia, of Williamsburg and Jody and Jaime Rogalla of Tyrone, three beautiful grandchildren, a sister, Lu Anne Robbins of Binghamton, N.Y., and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. A 1965 graduate of Altoona Area High School, Sandy spent many years as a mother and homemaker. She later worked as a caregiver and registered nursing assistant at the Arc of PA and at various nursing facilities throughout the area. She retired from Garvey Manor in 2012. Sandy enjoyed arts and crafts, travel, local ballet, theater and Penn State football. Visitation and services will be held at 10:30 on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Greenwood United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
