12 Sept 99; Chronicle Journal, Thunder Bay, ON HILL, Sherrill Hill, Sherrill, age 42 passed away peacefully Sept. 11, 1999, after a courageous battle with Leukemia, her family at her side. Cherished wife of Jimmy, devoted mother to her son Jesse and daughter Jaime, who were the light of her life. Sherrill has been an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of meeting her. She made a difference in so many lives, especially her nieces and nephews. She made each child feel special and shared her Love of Life with them. The unconditional love she gave us all will be treasured and deeply missed by her family & friends, especially her mother and 4 sisters, in whose lives she played a Very Special role. Sherrill's first priority was her family. She was very involved in her children's lives, through the years in Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Sparks, Brownies, Guides, T-ball coach, and in both Shuniah and Five Mile Schools as a parent volunteer. Sherrill is survived by her husband Jim, son Jesse, daughter Jaime, mother Martha (John Rentz); sister Martha (Les, Erin & Gregory Mayes); sister Joyce (Austin, Lindsey & Andrew Torma); sister Sandra (Todd, Tyler, Adam & Brandon Carruthers); sister Carole (Darin, D.J. & Matthew Huston); father, Clair Laking (New Brunswick); sister-in-law Marne Hill (J.P., Tannis, Brayden & Chanse Gogosha), sister-in-law Karen Miller (Craig); brother-in-law Gordon (Wanda, Jeff, Keifer & Cheylene Hill). A memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 15, 1999 at 7:00 PM Westminster United Church, 650 River Street, Thunder Bay, Ontario. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. As a tribute to Sherrill, we encourage everyone to become a blood donor and to pre-register with the Bone Marrow Registry. We would like to Thank the Doctors and Nursing staff of 5 West PAGH-Thunder Bay Regional Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital who genuinely cared and treated us like family.
