It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, aunt, friend, Sherry on Monday, January 26, 2009, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born September 15, 1951, in East Walton, she was a daughter of Pauline (McLellan) Lake and the late Aubrey Lake. A truly generous and loving woman, Sherry was involved in a multitude of community groups and organizations, the church, and most importantly, her family. Too numerous are her accomplishments in life to list. Many lives have, and will continue to be altered and improved by having known and loved Sherry. The love she gave was unlimited and unending and will be felt always. Sherry is survived by her husband, Jimmy; her daughter, Angie (Jack) Laffin, Noel; son, Mark (Julie) Custance, Tennecape; grandchildren, Melody and Douglas Laffin and Zachary Custance; sister, Teresa (Kevin) Lake, East Walton, and brothers, Roger (Linda) Lake, North Noel Road and Tommy (Lynn) Lake, East Walton; mother, Pauline Lake, East Walton; father-in-law, James Conley Sr., Noel, and several nieces and nephews. Sherry was predeceased by her son, Craig Andrew Custance; father, Aubrey Lake; a sister in infancy and mother-in-law, Reta Conley. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31, at 2 p.m. in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 354 Kennetcook. Followed by a reception in the Noel Fire Hall, Noel., Rev. Joan Conrad officiating with private family burial at a later date in Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge. Family flowers only.
