LAKE, Shirley Ann - 73, Dartmouth. It is with deep sorrow that the
family of Shirley Lake announce her passing on February 23, 2009. She
was a daughter of the late Walter and Lucy (Young) Glawson. Our mother
was an avid Montreal Canadians and Montreal Expos fan. For many years,
she dedicated her time and passion to our local baseball team, as a fan
and scorekeeper. Mom will be missed but never forgotten by her children,
Donna Edmunds (Ed), David Lake, Julie Dorion, Michael Lake; grandchildren,
Jody Frowley (Kim), Stacie Manning (Craig), Adam Dorion (Sam), Katrina
Dorion, Ashley Dorion, Lisa Lake, Sara Lake; seven great-grandchildren;
brother, Sydney Glawson. She was predeceased by her sister, Sylvia
Doherty. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be today at 6-8 p.m.
and funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m., both in Bethel United
Baptist Church, 316 Windmill Rd., Dartmouth, with Pastor Vance Arbeau
officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Memorial
donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. The family
would like to thank the staff on the 9th floor in Northwood Centre for
their outstanding care and support. Our last days with Mom were made
much easier by each and every one of you.  Arrangements are under the
direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
