SUSAN FRANCES MILLER MENARD - Coventry


SUSAN FRANCES MILLER MENARD, 52, of 432 Fairview Ave., an employee in patient 
accounts, testing and admitting at Kent County Memorial Hospital, Warwick, 
retiring last year because of illness, died July 2 at home. She was the wife 
of T.L. ``Tom'' Menard.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Richard Brooks Lake Sr. and 
Margaret Salina (Sawyer) Lake, she had lived in Warwick for many years before 
moving to Coventry. She was a 1964 graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High 
School.

Mrs. Menard had also been employed in the accounting department at Rhode 
Island Hospital.

A seamstress, she sewed many costumes, including Santa and Mrs. Claus, and 
along with her husband, toured area hospitals and doctors' offices.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Howard Miller, a daughter, Melissa 
Miller, and her former husband, Norman Miller, all of Cranston; a 
stepdaughter, Dawn Shippee of Coventry; a brother, Richard B. Lake Jr. of 
Warwick; and four grandchildren. She was the granddaughter of the late Arthur 
Sawyer and Rose (McHugh) Sawyer.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 5 p.m. in Christ the King 
Church, Legris Avenue, West Warwick.
