Augusta Chronicle; Augusta GA; 2009-2-9 Sybil Lake Franklin JACKSON, S.C. - Funeral services for Mrs. Sybil Lake Franklin, 79, of Old Jackson Hwy, who entered into rest February 8, 2009 will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the First Baptist Church of Jackson. Dr. Ken Klingler officiating. Interment in Jackson Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Franklin was a native of Ellenton, SC having made Jackson her home for the past 55 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, sewing and cooking. Mrs. Franklin was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, the Philathea Sunday School Class and the CSRA Roadrunners Coachman Club. She was a church organist and pianist for over 50 years. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Donald M. Franklin; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Maggie Franklin, Jr., Newberry, SC; a daughter, Emily Celestine Jackson, Jackson, SC; five grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Philathea Sunday School Class. Active Pallbearers will be Marion Brinkley, Jr., Allen Hardy, Robert Crumley, Melvin Weathersbee, Allen Franklin and Robert Turnell.
