LAKE, SYLVIA H, 94, of Maple Street, died Saturday at Kent Hospital.
Wife of the late John B Lake, Jr.  Daughter of the late George and
Florence (Gibson) Holcomb.  Mother of Anne L Holbrook, grandmother of
three and one great-grandson.  In the 1930's, Sylvia wrote a novel, "The
Fortress Within".  She was a member of the Boston Authors Club, enjoyed
reading, gardening and entertaining guests at her home.  A memorial
service will be celebrated on Saturday at 11am in Westminster Unitarian
Church, 119 Kenyon Ave., East Greenwich, RI 02818.  Burial private.
