Sun Journal; Lewiston ME; 1999-12-3 LEWISTON Thalia A. "Jo" Blanchard, 82, died Tuesday night, Nov. 30, at Montello Commons unexpectedly. She was born in Wilton, Sept. 13, 1917 the daughter of Ralph and Florence (Bubier) Lake. She graduated from the Wilton Academy class of 1935, she then furthered her education at Bliss College graduating in 1937. She had worked at the Bates Mill for many years and prior to her retirement she had worked as the head chef for the Medic Health Care Facility in Ocala, Fla. She enjoyed her grandchildren, and was an avid cooking enthusiast. She was a member of the Auxillary of the Androscoggin Fish and Game Preserve. She had been an active member of East Auburn Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Lewis of Auburn; one brother, Ralph Lake of Ocala, Fla.; one sister, Elaine Cormier of Leesburg, Fla.; two granddaughters, Jamie Morrison of Auburn, Lisa Thrasher of Lisbon Falls; six grandchildren; and several neices and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Claudia Pratt and Winifred Trask.
