The Daily Record, Wooster, Ohio 28 Aug 2001 Page D2 Thelma DeMoss WOOSTER -- Thelma Lea DeMoss, 74, 644 Stibbs St., lost her courageous fight with liver cancer on Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at her residence. Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. Claude McComas officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born March 19, 1927, in Ireland, W.Va., to William and Bessie (Weimer) Lake and married Jasper DeMoss on March 1, 1948. He passed away in 1996. She was a membr of Nold Avenue Baptist Church in Wooster where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She later was a member of Orrville Baptist Church. She loved flowers and was well-known for her delicious pies. Surviving are children, Sharon (Alvin) Musselman of Shreve, Francis Kaye Blair and Pamela Amstutz, both of Wooster; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Linda) Lake of Wooster and Bernard Lake of Warren; sisters, Annabelle (Charles) Miner of West Virginia, and Macel (Robert) Swagert of St. Mary; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, several brothers and sisters died previously.
