From WATERLOO/CEDAR FALLS COURIER, MONDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2002 PAGE C2 Waterloo IA Thomas Lake (1951 - 2002) INDEPENDENCE--Thomas Lake, 51, of Independence, died at home Saturday, Nov. 30, of an apparent heart attack. He was born Nov. 26, 1951, in Oelwein, son of A.G. and Mary Margaret Muehl Lake. He married Barbara Jean Roscovius on Feb. 26, 1982, in Mount Pleasant. Mr. Lake was a 1971 graduate of Independence High School and had served as a U.S. Air Force medic stationed in Colorado during the Vietnam War. He was currently employed by Larson Construction, Independence. Survivors include: his wife; two daughters, Jeanne (Matt) Seward of Waverly and Caroline Lake at home; a stepdaughter, Kelly Sherrets of Independence; a stepson, Joshua J. Sherrets of Independence; six grandchildren; his father of Independence; four brothers, Tony (Becky) of Cedar Falls, George (Virginia), Alex and Dan (Tess), all of Independence; and three sisters, Jeanette (Ed) Gawronski of roscoe, Ill., Sue (Jerry) Wilcox of Independence and Peggy (Tom) Keller of Rock Island, Ill. Preceded in death by: his mother. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with burial in Wilson Cemetery, both in Independence. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Independence, with a 7 p.m. military service.
