LAKE, VEDA -- Memorial services for Veda Lake, 80, of Dos Palos will be
at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dos Palos United Methodist Church. Mrs. Lake,
a homemaker, died Tuesday. Remembrances may be sent, in lieu of flowers,
to the Memorial Fund at Dos Palos United Methodist Church, P.O. Box
606, Dos Palos, CA 93620. Evergreen Funeral Home in Merced is in charge
of arrangements.

   Homemaker

   Veda Lake, a resident of Dos Palos for 60 years, died Tuesday in Dos Palos.
   She was born Aug. 3, 1921, in Kemp, Texas.  She was a member of Dos Palos 
United Methodist Church and  was an accomplished artist.
   Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Kenneth Lake of Dos Palos; 
sons, Gary Lake of Dos Palos and Roddy Lake of Firebaugh; a daughter, DeAnna 
Dubree of Redding; two brothers, Bill and Paul Pate of Dos Palos; one sister, 
Robbie Sorg of Dos Palos; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
   A memorial service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Dos Palos United 
Methodist Church.  The Rev. H. Richard White will officiate.  Private burial 
will be in Dos Palos Cemetery.  Evergreen Funeral Home of Merced is in charge 
of arrangements.
