Arkansas Gazette; Littlerock AR; 2005-6-29 SCOTT - Velma D. Lake, of Scott, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2005, at the age of 75. She was born in Lonoke on August 6, 1929. She was a Pulaski County Deputy Sheriff for 20 years. She was known for her love of fishing. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Lake, two sisters, one brother and her parents. She is survived by her four sons, John Bradford, Billy Lake, Michael Lake, Jesse (Randy) Lake; two daughters, Carole Files, Benita Watts; 14 grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren ; three great-greatgrandchildren ; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers, North Little Rock, (501) 835-3515 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Chapel, Thursday, June 30, 2005, at 2 p.m. with Brother Allen Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Cemetery.
