Daily Sun News Sunnyside, Washington Tuesday, May 29, 2012 VERLIE RUTH NIEMEYER Verlie Ruth Niemeyer, 90 of Prosser, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012. Verlie was born to Bill and Ruth (Parrish) Lake on February 4, 1922 in Lewistown, Montana. Verlie spent her early years in St. Maries, Idaho. In 1940 she married John Niemeyer. A year later the couple moved to Granger, with their 19-day-old son. They lived in the Yakima Valley most of their lives except for a few spent in Goldendale. Verlie is survived by two sons, Gary (Joan) Niemeyer of Sunnyside and Harold (Mary) Niemeyer of Yakima; two daughters, Barbara Niemeyer of Hermiston, Ore. and Arlene Schuster of Goldendale; one brother, Dwaine Anderson of Warden; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her special friend Lloyd Kinney and her Prosser Sun Terrace family. She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Betty Van Horn, brothers Richard Anderson and Robert Lake and sisters Lavern Conklin and Pat Benson. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
