LAKE, Vern S

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2005, in the Sunnyside
Ward-Happy Valley Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints for Vern S. Lake, who died May 23 at age 88.

Mr. Lake was born Sep. 3, 1916, in Salt Lake City.  During World War II,
he served in the Army.  He was a sales manager for General Mills, where he
worked for 35 years, and lived in Idaho, Utah, Washington and California
before moving to Portland in 1989.  In 1941, he married Nelda Cowan.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Stephen C. and Robert C.; eight
grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
