Published in Patriot-News on May 14, 2012 Harrisburg PA Walter A. Lake, Jr., age 75, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born August 13, 1936 in Needmore, PA, he was a son of the late Walter A. and Mary (DeShong) Lake. Walt was retired from the PA Department of Transportation where he had spent many years in the Traffic Engineering Department. In his retirement and free time, he enjoyed the "great outdoors" and was an avid golfer. Walt was interested in family history and kept busy with projects around the house, but loved telling jokes and spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends most of all. In addition to his parents, Walt was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol (Alloway) Lake. Surviving is his wife, Linda (Myers) Lake; his sons, Richard M. Lake and Rodney D. Lake and fiance Deborah A. Clay; his step-childen, John P. Zeigler and wife Lisa and Kristen Z. Dieck and husband Craig; grandchildren, Brianna, Christopher, Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Joshua Lake; step-grandchildren, Adam and Conner Dieck and Laura, Larissa, and Leah Zeigler; as well as his brother, Jack A. Lake and wife Helen and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 17 at Malpezzi Fune ral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg. Visitations will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 16 as well as from 9:30 to 11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
