The Chronicle-Herald, Volume 57, Number 13 {Issue number confirmed} Halifax NS Canada Monday, January 17, 2005 LAKE, Walter Benjamin - 80, McKay Section, Hants Co., passed away suddenly, January 16, 2005, at his home. Born on March 24, 1924, in East Walton, Hants Co., he was a son of the late Trenholm and Dorothy (Thorpe) Lake. Walter worked most of his life with Tidewater Construction as a mechanic. He had previously operated heavy equipment and had formerly worked at Fundy Gypsum Co. He loved animals, especially cattle, cats and wildlife. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, the former June Margaret Young; sons, Lewis, Abbotsford, B.C.; Robert "Rob" (Jean), Windsor; Mark (Grace), Scotch Village; grandchildren, Brandon, Courtney, Melissa "Missy", Shane, and Cody; brother, Alton (Evelyn) Lake, East Walton; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Ada Hartt; brothers, Milton and Ted Lake. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., Windsor. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 20, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Shelley Pick officiating. Interment in Grace United Church Cemetery, Walton.
