WALTER K. LAKE Wallkill, N.Y. Walter K. Lake of Wallkill, a press operator for Tarkett, Vails Gate, and lifelong resident of the area, died Thursday, May 10, 2001, in Westchester Medical Center. He was 76. The son of the late John and Hattie Krom Lake, he was born March 27, 1925, in Walden. Mr. Lake was a Veteran of WWII Navy CBs and a member of the Tri State Music Association and VFW Post 7241 in Port Jervis. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Tagart Lake at home; two sons, Steven Engels and his wife, Pearl of Wallkill and Walter Lake Jr. of Florissant, Colo.; two daughters, Debra Robinson and her husband, Tim of Wallkill and Suzanne Emashowski and her husband, Steve of West Hurley ; three brothers, Fred Lake of Montgomery, John Lake of Carey, Ohio, and Donald Lake of Walden; one sister, Shirley DePace of Kingston; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Raymond, Edward, Charles, and William Lake; and four sisters, Dorothy Cooper, Alice Woodruff, Pearl Salyer, and Ethel Hall. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today, Saturday, May 12, at Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden. Funeral services will held at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, May 12, at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard Bierwas will officiate. Cremation will be in Cedar Hill Crematory, with cremains buried in the Bruynswick Rural Cemetery, Wallkill.
