The Chronicle Herald Thursday, Feb 14, 2013 Halifax NS Volume 65 Number 38 {Issue number confirmed} AINSLIE, Wanda Elizabeth - 64, Falmouth, Hants Co., passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on November 2, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Embert and Bertha (Weatherbee) Lake. Wanda always had an open door and was a mother figure to the neighbourhood children. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and she enjoyed spending many hours with them. Wanda enjoyed playing 45s with Hedley, Ruth and Roscoe, yahtzee with Ruth, Amanda and Barb and bingo with Leah. She also enjoyed going for coffee and trips to Walmart with Pam. Wanda is survived by her husband, Hedley; son, Wade (Susie Spence), Martock; daughter, Jacky (Trevor) Rolfe, Windsor Forks; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Gabrielle "Gabby" and Gavin; sister, Leah (Raymond) Carson, Windsor. She was predeceased by brother, Gary (Becky) Lake. The family would like to say special thanks to Doctors Kazimirski and Matheson; Bev Lyttle, Kevin Mason and the Palliative Care Nurses of Unit 200; her best friend, Pam, for being there and helping out along the way. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). An open house celebration will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, February 16 in the Royal Canadian Legion, Hants Co., Branch No. 009, Empire Lane, Windsor. Private interment will be held at a later date in Centre Falmouth Cemetery.
