Hagerstown Morning Herald Oct. 27, 2004 Hagerstown MD Chambersburg, Pa. - Watson D. Lake, 94, of Menno-Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Buckingham, Pa., died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at Menno-Haven. Born Feb. 6, 1910, in Bucks County, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank H. and Lucie Gilmore Lake. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring. He was a member of Midway Volunteer Fire Co. of Lahaska, Pa., and served as chief and assistant chief. He and his late brother, Larry, owned and operated Lake Brothers Painting and Wallpapering of Buckingham. He was a volunteer at Menno-Haven. He is survived by his wife, Ida Wismer Lake, whom he married May 26, 1934; two sons, David W. Lake of Chambersburg and William A. Lake of Smethport, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, A. Paul Lake and Harry G. Lake. A memorial service will be Saturday, Nov. 13, at 1:30 p.m. at Menno-Haven Chapel. Chaplain Vernon Isner and the Rev. Linda B. Harter will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Menno-Haven, Benevolent Fund, 2075 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201. Arrangements are by Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home in Chambersburg.
