Sacramento Bee Sacramento CA 7 Jul 2009 LAKE, Wilford E. ''Will'' Of Rancho Cordova, CA, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2009, at the age of 91. He was pre- ceded in death by his wife, Jean; his parents, Ammon and Hazel Atkin Lake; brothers, George, Atkin, LeRoy, and Ronald. He is survived by his son, Bill Lake (Ruth) and his daughter, Carol Hoadley (Bill); brothers, Merlin and Darryl Lake and sisters, LeOra Ricks and LaReta Hutchison; grandchildren, Neil, Kelly, Lisa, Jennie, and Brian; five great-grandchildren, and many family members and friends who were so dear to his heart. Always a true gentleman, Will was a U.S. Navy veteran of the SeaBees, the Construction Battalion. By trade a carpenter, Will rose in the construction industry to the ranks of Project Manager, responsible for such projects as Freeborn Hall at UCD, the Stockton Courthouse, the Los Banos Pumping Plant, and Bank of America in Guam. All his life, Will was an avid hunter and fisherman spending most of his time in the great outdoors, most recently with his devoted dogs, Dutchess and Pepper. Family and close friends are invited to a Graveside Service on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 2:00pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA.
