He was born April 17, 1928, in Harbor Grace, Newfoundland, and moved to Venice in 1974 from Webster, N.H., where he owned and operated a construction business. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He owned an aluminum siding business for 20 years in Venice. Survivors include his wife Sharon; and children, Shirley Brown of Warner, N.H., William Jr. of Sparta, Tenn., James of Andover, N.H., Sharrann Vought of Englewood, Darryl of Venice, Diella of Wisconsin, and Brandon and David both of Venice; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. A memorial service was March 31, 2006, in Venice.
