Before his retirement, Mr. Lake was an executive with Vulcan Materials Company, Birmingham, AL. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie L. Lake; daughters, Ruth Lake of Milan, Italy, Jean Lake-Brown and husband Joe of Douglas, KS, and Katy Nestor and husband Mike of Clearwater, KS; sons, Dr. James Lake of Pacific Grove, CA, and David Lake of Westlake Village, CA; stepdaughter, Amy Shortall and husband John of Overland Park, KS; stepsons, Michael Bullock and Jeffrey Bullock, both of Lenexa, KS; sisters, Roberta Griffith of Westbrook, CT, Elaine Kincaid and husband Gene of Winchester, KY, and Dr. Barbara Lake of Worthington, OH; as well as twelve grandchildren.
