Wilmer Lake Published Thursday, December 2, 2004 Columbia Daily Tribune Columbia Missouri Wilmer Lake, 92, of Columbia died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, in Columbia. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon, with minister Tom Farrington officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett. Mr. Lake was born Sept. 29, 1912, in Eldon to Elmer and Anna Wells Lake. On Jan. 20, 1940, he married Dorothy Worthley in Eldon, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 2002. He was a charter member of Ninth Street Christian Church. He was a lifetime farmer, and in his later years he worked odd jobs. Survivors include two sons, Donald Lake of Columbia and Harold Lake of Mountain Grove; two daughters, Juanita Branstetter of Belton and Anita Cox of Harrisburg; a sister, Mildred Queen of Seattle; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ross Lake, and two sisters, Hazel Lake and Mae Shipley. Memorials are suggested to The Bluffs nursing home.
