Ann Arbor News; Ann Arbor MI; 2003-10-22 Winifred (Kittel) Kennedy Kennedy, Winifred (Kittel) Whitmore Lake, MI Age 88, died on Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born February 8, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Lakin) Roiser of Detroit. Winifred was united in marriage to Ernest Kittel, he preceded her in death in 1969; she then married George Kennedy and he preceded her in death in 1971. She owned and operated Kittel's Grocery Store with her husband Ernest for many years. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Winifred spent many winters in the Tampa area of Florida. She enjoyed traveling, camping, people, and especially her two great-grandchildren. Winifred had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest. Surviving are her daughters, Judy (Craig) Taggart and Linda Kittel; daughter-in-law Pat (Kittel) Needham; grand children, Clyde Allen Kittel, Jennifer O'Dell, Lisa Taggart, and Scott Taggart; great-grand children, Savanna Kittel, and Ariel O'Dell; brother, Kenny Roiser; sisters, Betty Reed and Dorothea Moore; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Clyde Ernest Kittel in 1970. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2003 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pastor John P. Gierach officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.Family will receive friends at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL 6-9 p.m. Wednesday.
