VARGO, Winnie (nee Lucy Winnifred Lake) - On December 26, 1999, 92 years
young. Winnie was called to sit with Jesus at his table beside her husband
Joseph (Uncle Joe) Vargo, her daughter Judith (Judy Partington R.N.) and
grandson Dennis Vargo. Blessed in grace for Eternity. Loved and remembered
by daughter Lucille (and Jerry Dunn), Josephine (and Jack Oliphant), son
Christopher (and Linda Vargo), son-in-law George Partington. Blessed
through her life by 14 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren. Sister of
Harold Lake (Hamilton), Art Lake (Hamilton), Francis Wardope (Hamilton),
Ivy Green (Buffalo, New York), William Lake (New York State), Maple Uhrig
(Collingwood). Cousins in the Guernsey Islands. Predeceased by three
brothers, Bert, Clifford and Wilfred. Past President of the Ladies'
Auxiliary British Imperial Club 40's and 50's. Past President of Winnett's
Travel Club 60's and 70's. Long standing member of the C.W.L. For many
years Winnie knitted newborn bonnets for St. Joseph's Hospital. Visitation
at the P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Avenue (between Fennell
and Mohawk), Tuesday, December 28, 1999 from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will
be offered at Blessed Sacrament Church on Wednesday, December 29, 1999 at
11 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital Fund or the charity of your choice. -
