I finally found a marriage record for my Francis Bowker's parents, Thomas Bowker & Phebe Cathcart, Jan 12, 1811 in Tom River, NJ by JP, now I need to obtain a copy, if I can. On pages 124 and 125 a family name of Grover is there. I believe my gtgt Granddmother after her Robbins husband died married a Grover. In the 1860 Wi. census a Mason Grover is listed as 70 years old, I believe they were in Wi. as early as 1853. Does anyone have more information on this Grover family and decendants please? Stillwell, M.D.'s book Historical & Genealogical Miscellany Early Settlers of New Jersey and their Descendants Vol. III pgs. 246-278 originally published in New York, 1914 & reprinted by Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore, 1970. gives the history of the Grover family of Monmouth Co., NJ. You can check with your library to see if they have it or maybe through interlibrary loan. This is incorrect. Aaron Robins, Sr. & his 2nd wife Elizabeth Arney (widow of John Arney) had no children together. Does anyone have any information on Margaret Buck who married John Holloway abt. 1754 in Culpepper Co., VA? Was Margaret Buck Holloway the daughter of Abigail Robins Buck daughter of 11-Aaron? From: turkeypt2 [july37@cox.net] Sent: Thursday, November 12, 2009 3:09 PM Subject: "Robins , Robbins of NJ" Corrections In the Will Section, pg. 161, Ephraim Robins Inventory 1759, Mar 30 Monmouth Co., NJ. names Mercy Robins Admin bond & Fellowbondsman Moses Robins. Notation states "Believe Mercy his wife & Moses his brother." 1. Mercy Cox Robins was the wife of Ephraim Robins & her relationship to Ephraim is not in question. Source: NJ Marriage Records 1665-1800 pg. 324 records their marriage on Apr. 21, 1746. 2. Ephraim Robins, Sr. didn't have a brother Moses. Moses Robins Fellowbondsman was most likely his cousin & son of 8-Moses & not his brother. Ephraim's uncle 8-Moses Robins was deceased before 1759. A copy of the original will of 10-Aaron Robins on pg. 156 reads "I appoint my son Daniel Robnes and Moses Robnes of Allentown my Exers." Moses Robins, Jr. of Allentown, NJ was b. abt. 1705 d. 1775. There is nothing in the will of 10-Aaron to indicate Moses was his son. I hope this will clear up the misleading statement & incorrect information. Sara
