I have a hand written marriage certificate dated November 19, 1853
between Caroline Rob[b]ins and John Fairbanks  at the home of Mason
W.Grover in the town of Waupun, Fond du Lac county, Wi.
It says her parents are Peter and Abigail Rob[bins, his parents are
listed as Ellis and Anny Fairbanks.  It also says that John was born
in the Town of Munnoc, Franklin county the state of Mass.  It does
not say where Caroline was born.  It further says that Mason Grover
is her guardian and had to give permission as she was under the age
of eighteen.  James Rob[b]ins was a witness.
Also, in the Wi. 1860 census of Fond du Lac county, I found M.W.
Grover age 70 born Me.as head of household, wife Abigail 57 born NY,
Edward Robbins 24 born NY, wife Vestalina Robbins 20 born NY I have
seen Pa. too[my gt. grandparents], Margaret 1 born Wi., James 29 born
NY but I have seen Pa. too, Arvilla wife 22 born NY and James 4 born
Wi.
In the 1870 Wi. census, Fond du Lac Co. Abigail was living with
Edward, wife and family but no M.W. Grover and they had a son John
then, who was my grandfather.
I have shortned this but these are the main facts, I am hoping
perhaps that this will ring a bell with some one else.
I have looked at records in NY and Pa but nothing, it is like they
came to Wi. from no where.  I gather from what I have learned that
Abigail lost her first husband and then married Mr. Grover.
