[12] [28] [40] Questions - William Robins is shown as the son of Jonathan Robins and Dinah ------ based upon circumstantial evidence presented in Citation #13. [3] Citation #1, Citation #17 and Citation #21 refer to Herman Kline as Harmon. [3] Citation #21 refers to child #6, Diana, as Dinah. [3] Citation #18 refers to Herman Kline as both Herman and Harmon. [3] Citation #1 refers to Eveland as both Evland and Evelane. [3] Citation #17 names Mary Hunt as Mary Lewis. [3] Citation #20 names the father of William Robins as Daniel Robins. [3] Citation #23 refers to child #5, Thomas H., as Thomas Robbins. [3] Citation #26 refers to Robins as both Robins and Robbins. [3] Citation #43 and Citation #44 refer to Robins as Robbins. [3] Child #7, Jonathan, died 15 Jan 1818 but there is no mention that he is deceased in the court case in May 1818 shown in Citation #26. [3] Either or both of the birthdates for child #6, Diana, and child #7, Jonathan, are in error. [3] Citation #28 refers to Charity Ann Kramer as Ann Charity Kramer. [3] Citation #28 says child #5, Thomas H., born c1737. [3] Citation #34 seems to be saying child #4, Daniel, is the son of 82.0, child i. [3] Citation #36 indicates that child #5, Thomas H., could have lived in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey 1784-1786 (via process of elimination). [3] Citation #40 says child #5, Thomas H., born in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. [3] Citation #41 indicates child #4, Daniel, died c1858. [3] Citation #42 refers to William Robins as William Robbins. [3] Citation #17 names a child of child #7, Jonathan: William J., born 1798, died 1876. [3] Citation #17 names children for child #5, Thomas H.: Daniel, Mathias, John Joseph, Isaac and Elizabeth. [3] Citation #17 says child #5, Thomas H., born in Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. [3] Citation #17 says child #5, Thomas H., died in Greenwood Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania. [3] Extras - If it is correct that William Robins is the son of Jonathan Robins (55.0) and Dinah ------ as presented in Citation #13, (and I agree with this) then Citation #12, Citation #15, Citation #19, Citation #31, Citation #32, Citation #39 and Citation #40 offer additional information regarding the descendancy of William Robins. 41.150 Jonathan Robins Father - 55.0 Jonathan Robins Mother - 55.1 Dinah ------ Timeline - c1721 Jonathan Robins born [12] [13] [15] in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [13] c1748 child #1, John, born in Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [13] c1754 child #2, Jonathan, born [13] [14] in Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [13] 1767 living in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [11] Oct 1774 Jonathan Robins involved in court case [5] 1777 living in Alexandria Township, [13] Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [11] [13] 30 Dec 1777 Jonathan Robins provided 2 blankets to the Patriots [11] [13] [16] 1784-1786 living in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey [16] [17] [18] Jul 1785 Jonathan Robins taxed 7 shillings, 8 pence [18] Aug 1786 Jonathan Robins taxed 1 pound, 9 shillings [17] 1787 living in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey [6] 1796 living in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey [4] 14 Oct 1796 inventory of estate of Jonathan Robins made [3] [4] 18 Oct 1796 Jonathan Robins (17.480) named as administrator of estate of Jonathan Robins [4] 6 Feb 1798 account of estate of Jonathan Robins filed [4] 3 May 1798 account of estate of Jonathan Robins confirmed [4] Explanations - There is no direct evidence saying this particular Jonathan Robins (41.150) is the son of Jonathan Robins (55.0) however there is circumstantial evidence as follows (also, see Citation #11): . proximity - they both lived in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. . timing - Jonathan Robins (41.150) had a child, Jonathan, who was born by 1768 according to Citation #8 (in order to be the executor); this means Jonathan Robins (41.150) would have been born by c1747 (and probably much earlier); Jonathan Robins (55.0) was born in 1694. . Citation #9 says Jonathan Robins (55.0) had a son named Jonathan. . Both were connected to the Johnston/Johnson family. Jonathan Robins (30.269) married Rachel Johnson, daughter of Ralph Johnson. Jonathan Robins (55.0) had financial dealings with Robert Johnson, son of Ralph Johnson. [2] Jonathan Robins (30.269) is identified by Citation #1 saying John Robins (30.268) has a brother named Jonathan, and Citation #7 showing that Jonathan Robins (41.150) and Jonathan Robins (30.269) lived close together (possibly on the same land). Additionally, Citation #4 identifies the two Jonathan Robins as Sr and Jr. (There were times when two people of the same name were labeled as Jr and Sr when they weren't father and son simply to differentiate between the two of them, but more often they were indeed father and son.) [2] Jonathan Robins (17.480) is shown as the Jonathan Robins who was the administrator of the estate of Jonathan Robins (41.150) based upon circumstantial evidence: . Jonathan Robins (17.480) was of age (21 or older) in 1796. . Jonathan Robins (17.480) was the grandson of Jonathan Robins (41.150). . Jonathan Robins (17.480) is shown to be living in Greenwich Township, Sussex County, New Jersey. [2] Extras - Citation #5 and Citation #16 show a Jonathan Robins who refused to take "the Test" (swearing allegiance to the United States of America) in Oct 1777. This is likely Jonathan Robins (30.269) but could be Jonathan Robins (41.150). [2] Citation #6 shows a Jonathan Robins who is identified as a tenant in a New Jersey Supreme Court case. This is likely Jonathan Robins (41.150) but could be Jonathan Robins (30.269). [2] Citation #10 is a map showing where Jonathan Robins lived. [2] Citation #5 refers to Jonathan Robins as Jonathan Robbins. [2] Questions - The Jonathan Robins who supplied 2 blankets to the Patriots 30 Dec 1777 could have been Jonathan Robins (30.269), but it seems more likely that it was 41.150 because of age. [2] I suspect Jonathan Robins was not born in Hunterdon County, New Jersey since it appears the family moved from Monmouth County, New Jersey to Hunterdon County, New Jersey c1743.
