[34] [36] Child #5, Margaret, buried in Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Asbury Road, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. [34] [36] Extras - Map showing where John C. Lake lived, Maps->USA->NewJersey->HunterdonCounty->28.gif [2] Photos of Musconetcong Valley Presbyterian Church, Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey and historical sign, Misc->MusconetcongValleyChurch1.jpg, Misc->MusconetcongValleyChurch2.jpg and Misc->MusconetcongValleyChurch3.jpg [2] Questions - Citation #49 says John C. Lake born 4 Apr 1776. [2] Citation #1 erroneously indicates that John C. Lake is the son of Garrison Lake. Citation #1 also says that Garrison Lake passed his life in Warren County, New Jersey (Warren County was created in 1824). [2] The connection between Abraham Lake (16.0) and John C. Lake (28.0) is based upon circumstantial and DNA evidence. [2] [3] Citation #8 indicates child #5, Margaret, born c1823. [2] Citation #34 and Citation #36 say child #5, Margaret, died 18 Aug 1886, however the age specified in Citation #36 agrees with the death date of 18 Aug 1889. [2] Citation #15, Citation #23, Citation #24 and Citation #38 name Abigail Kaes as Abigail Case. [2] Citation #34 and Citation #36 refer to Abigail Kaes as Abigail Case. [2] Citation #36 refers to child #5, Margaret, as Margaet. [2] Citation #38 says will of John C. Lake made 1 Jan 1851. [2] Citation #38 refers to Jacob Tunison as Jack Turrison. [2] Citation #34 and Citation #38 say child #5, Margaret, born 4 Oct 1810. [2] Citation #40 says John C. Lake died in Mansfield Woodhouse, Washington Township, Warren County, New Jersey. [2] Citation #34 refers to child #4, Elizabeth, as Elisabeth. [2] Citation #49 says child #4, Elizabeth, died 8 Aug 1903. [2] Citation #32 refers to Abigail Kaes as both Abigail and Abigale. [2] Citation #49 and Citation #50 refer to Abigail Kaes as Abigal Case. [2] Citation #49 refers to Jacob Tunison as Jake Turrison. [2] Extras - Notice in Citation #41 that the lease agreement is drawn up in Warren County, New Jersey. Perhaps this is because the Warren County seat (Belvidere, New Jersey) is closer to where John Lake resided (New Hampton, New Jersey area) than the Hunterdon County seat (Flemington, New Jersey); or perhaps because Belvidere, New Jersey was closer to where the leasee lived (Rockaway Township, Morris County, New Jersey). [2] Explanations - The signature of John C. Lake in Citation #54 isn't the same as some other documents where he made his signature. However, this is before he took on civil positions, and could have felt he needed to make a change to his signature later. Also, this is before John C. Lake is married and no spouse is mentioned in Citation #54 (the spouse of the seller is generally named in land sales). Additionally, I'm aware of no other John Lake in Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey at the time. [2] Citations - 1. [12] [13] Questions - Citation #14 refers to Sarah Lanning as Sarah Landon. [6] Citation #9 names another child, Polly (1790-1862) and does not name child #6, Joseph. [6] Citation #12 refers to child #4, Polly, as both Polly and Nancy. [6] Citation #10 says Richard Lake born 1730. [6] Citation #10 says Richard Lake died in Putnam County, Georgia. [6] Citation #14 says Richard Lake died in Grove County, Georgia. [6] Citation #14 says Richard Lake served as a Private with Captain Longstreet's Company, 3d Regiment, Middlesex County Militia. [6] Citation #12 says Richard Lake moved to Grove County, Georgia 1793. [6] Citation #12 names two places of death for Richard Lake: Grove County, Georgia and Greene County, Georgia. [6] Citation #12, referencing a book by Robert Leighton Crawford on page 24, says Richard Lake married Sarah Landon 1783. It could be that Elizabeth Lanning was Sarah Elizabeth, and Landon is being confused with a very similar sounding Lanning. Also, the Crawford book names children Ellen and Sarah instead of child #3, Sally, and child #8, Betsy. [6] Citation #19 refers to child #3, Sally, as Sarah. [6] Citation #19 refers to Elizabeth Lanning as Sarah Elizabeth Lanning. [6] I can find no evidence of a Richard Lake having served in New Jersey during the American Revolutionary War. [6] Elizabeth Lanning probably died in 1839. [6] Citation #17 names a daughter, Senna. [6] Citation #18 says Richard Lake living in Greene County, Georgia 1790. [6] Citation #19 says Richard Lake died in 1 Jun 1800. [6] Citation #19 refers to Richard Lake as Richard D. Lake. [6] Citation #19 says Elizabeth Lanning born 1770 in Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey (this birth year may conflict with her marriage date). [6] Citation #19 refers to Anna ------ as Margaret Inslee. [6] Citation #19 names child: Elisha (1763 Virginia - 1850 Randolph, Bibb County, Alabama, married Nancy Fuller, had child: Candis). 28.3 Daniel Thatcher Lake Father - 109.205 Jacob Lake Mother - Mary Debow Timeline - 8 Feb 1789 Daniel Thatcher Lake born [5] 1820 living in Smith County, Tennessee [6] [10] 1823 child #1, Allen Deboe, born [2] in Smith County, Tennessee [1] 1826 child #2, Daniel T., born in Tennessee [1] 1830 living in Smith County, Tennessee [6] [10] 1836 child #4, James C., born in Tennessee [1] c1837 Mary Ann Siler born in Tennessee [1] 1840 living in Smith County, Tennessee [6] 1850 living in Tipton County, Tennessee [6] [10] 11 Jan 1855 child #2, Daniel T., and Virginia Culbreath married in Tipton County, Tennessee [1] 26 Nov 1857 child #4, James C., and Mary Ann Siler married in Tipton County, Tennessee [1] 1860 living in Tipton County, Tennessee [6] [10] 4 Apr 1861 child #2, Daniel T., and Elizabeth A. Ivey married in Tipton County, Tennessee [1] 1 Jun 1869 Daniel Thatcher Lake died [5] Notes - Daniel Thatcher Lake buried in Robinson Cemetery, Mason, [7] Tipton County, Tennessee. [2] [6] [7] Elizabeth A. Ivey born in Tennessee. [1] Questions - Citation #3 illustrates major differences for this family. [4] Citation #8 shows a line of descent where #6 (in the line of descent) is the wrong Daniel Lake, however other researchers (such as Citation #3 and Citation #9) agree with Citation #8. [4] Explanations - On 6 Sep 2020 Clifton Wingard (3.2283, child i) <cwingard55@gmail.com> told me that his cousin has in her possession the family bible of Jacob Lake (109.205). I believe that helps confirm Daniel Thatcher Lake (buried in Tennessee as described in Citation #5) is the son of Jacob Lake since the bible is in this family's possession. [4] Jack Lake Revare, who spent a lot of time researching his LAKE line and published a book about his research, traced his LAKE line to Daniel LAKE (b 1771 in Virginia, d 1827 Ralls County, Missouri). Jack said Daniel LAKE went directly from Virginia to Missouri and was never in North Carolina (which would account for not finding any North Carolina records for another Lake family), and is NOT a son of Jacob Lake (109.205) This Daniel Lake may be connected to Thomas Lake and/or Timothy Lake, assumed brothers who show up in Loudoun County, Virginia by 1767. Thomas and Timothy were perhaps sons of Daniel Lake (111.15). Thomas went to South Carolina from Virginia. Timothy may have went to Ohio. [4] Citation #10, a well thought out and documented paper by an accredited genealogist, agrees with Clifton Wingard and Jack Lake Revare. [4] There is another Lake family which may be somehow connected. Johannah Lake (110.24) married Daniel Bayles. The family moved from Middlesex County, New Jersey to Cecil County, Maryland c1760. They moved to Loudoun County, Virginia c1765. And finally they moved to Washington County, Tennessee c1780. The siblings of Johannah Lake appear to have stayed in Middlesex County, New Jersey. [5] In the timeline above it is said William Lake moved to Harrison Township, Dearborn County, Indiana 1815; but perhaps that should be 1816 considering William Lake appeared in Hunterdon County, New Jersey court Oct 1815 - Jan 1816 according to Citation #20. Perhaps others in the family moved 1815 and William Lake moved 1816. [5] Citation #21 says William Lake came from England but also says William born in Hunterdon County, New Jersey; worked as a whaler.
