Citation #9 shows a Thomas Lake from Kingwood Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey who was born c1759. The Thomas Lake in Citation #9 is likely a grandson of Daniel Lake (111.15), perhaps child #2, Thomas. (Citation #8 says "a" Thomas Lake served, but it's certainly possible more than one Thomas Lake served.) [2] Citations - 1. 111.13 Daniel Lake Father - 112.6 Daniel Lake Mother - Alice Stillwell Timeline - c1685 Daniel Lake born [13] [15] in Gravesend, Kings County, New York [15] 1709 child #1, Alice, born [15] 1711 child #2, Joseph, born [15] 26 Jul 1719 child #3, Daniel, born [4] [6] [15] c1726 child #4, William, born [15] 1727 living in Richmond County, New York [3] [15] 2 Aug 1727 will of Daniel Lake made [3] [6] [8] [13] [15] 1727 Daniel Lake died [1] [3] [4] [6] 9 Oct 1727 will of Daniel Lake proved [3] [6] [13] [15] Notes - Daniel Lake married Sarah ------. [1] [3] [4] [6] [8] [13] Questions - Citation #5 and Citation #12 say Daniel Lake died 1723. [2] Citation #7 says Daniel Lake died 1760. [2] Citation #7 names an additional child: John. [2] Citation #10 says Daniel Lake married Patience Throckmorton; Citation #11 says Patience Throckmorton daughter of John Throckmorton and Alice Stout (daughter of Richard Stout). But that seems refuted by the combination of Citation #3 and Citations in 108.9. [2] Trees on ancestry.com have differing info for Daniel Lake. Two trees say Daniel Lake born 1675 in Richmond County, New York; married Patience Throckmorton 1716 in New York City, New York. Another tree says Daniel Lake born 1683 in Gravesend, Kings County, New York; married Sarah ------ (1680 - 1771). [2] Citation #14 names a child, Maria, married Richard Stillwell. [2] Citation #15 two dates for will of Daniel Lake made: 2 Aug 1727 and 1 Aug 1727. [2] Citation #15 believes Daniel Lake married first Patience Throckmorton; married second name unknown; married third Sarah ------ (mother of spouse of 110.34, married first ------ Conners; married third Joseph Holmes; will made 13 Apr 1771); all the children are by Patience Throckmorton. However, elsewhere in Citation #15 it is believed that Daniel Lake married first name unknown and this spouse is the mother of child #1, Alice, and child #2, Joseph. And Daniel Lake married second Patience Throckmorton 1718. Citation #15 also believes there are two additional children, both name unknown, born 1713 and 1715. And in another place in Citation #15 it is stated that Daniel Lake and Patience Throckmorton married 1715. [2] Citation #16 says Daniel Lake purchased 80 acres in Richmond County, New York from Nathaniel and Elizabeth Britton 8 Oct 1722. (This could be referring to 112.6.) [2] Extras - Additional info. known as "Abram". [23] Questions - Citation #21 believes that child #3, John, married a daughter of John Everitt (will made 1756, proved 1761, Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey); and child #3, John, is the John Lake whose inventory was made 29 Apr 1808 in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey (see Records->Misc->111.15ch-iii-2.jpg for 1808 inventory, and Reference->111.15.txt and Records->Misc->111.15-9.jpg for 1808 abstract and Hartpence/Lake connection). I agree. Also, I believe this John Lake is the John Lake noted in 9.754 as the father of Reuben Lake. And, I believe this John Lake is also the father of Zenas Lake (see Misc->111.15->ZenasLake, Misc->111.15->ZenasLake2 and Reference->111.15.txt (Jay Wright, 10 Nov 2002 and Annette Truesdell, 14 Jun 1999)). [10] Another Mary Everitt, daughter of Daniel Everitt (died 1807) and Rachel Howell, married a John Lake. Citation #21 believes this John Lake is a son of John Lake (inventory was made 29 Apr 1808 in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey). [10] Citation #30 believes that child #3, John, is the John Lake whose inventory was made 29 Apr 1808 in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey (see Records->Misc->111.15ch-iii-2.jpg for 1808 inventory). [10] Citation #26 says Daniel Lake son of Timothy Lake and married Sarah Bailey, but the same Citation also says something different. [10] Citation #30 says Daniel Lake a Freeholder in Amwell Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey 1741. (It's possible Daniel Lake's land spanned both Bethlehem Township and Amwell Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey in 1741.) [10] Citation #30 says Daniel Lake named on jury list in Amwell Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey 1741 (which I think could happen if Daniel Lake's land spanned both Bethlehem Township and Amwell Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey in 1741). [10] Explanations - Regarding the mortgage Daniel Lake was involved in dated 9 Jan 1768, could this be the same land Thomas Lake (111.0) purchased 10 May 1745? Did Daniel Lake somehow get involved with this land after Thomas Lake died in 1765? Daniel Lake is said to be of Amwell Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey in this mortgage document; he was identified as always being in Kingwood Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey in other documents. Amwell Township bordered Kingwood Township. Perhaps Daniel Lake lived very near the border. Or perhaps his land extended into both townships. I know of no other Daniel Lake who this could be named in the mortgage document. [10] The land purchased on 1 Aug 1744 in Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey would be situated in Kingwood Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey after it was created c1746. [10] Per Citation #32 the total acreage owned by all the children equals 379, the same number of acres owned/resurveyed by Daniel Lake 4 Jan 1760.
